Ulisses Carioca charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ulisses Carioca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ponciano AD booed when Constituinte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulisses Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th match minute, Constituinte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Berger to maneuver through the defense. David Moreira, 17 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Ponciano AD's goal looked a bit too open when Amílton Aparecido came free, but Dorival Trevisan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Adilson Sanches fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Pedro Couto in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardo Porto saved Constituinte from getting behind. Jeremias Tepedino was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 31 minutes into the match. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ponciano AD! The score was 1-1 after a penalty in the 34th minute, where Constituinte:s Rogério Arantes tricked Ponciano AD:s Dorival Trevisan with a difficult ball by the left post. When Amílton Aparecido came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Constituinte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amílton Aparecido couldn't finish the play. Amílton Aparecido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Dorival Trevisan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gugu Tavares was the one to do the kick off. When Washington Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Constituinte's protests and gave Washington Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 55 played minutes Constituinte got a freekick which was hit by Washington Loureiro. If Enrique Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the game, Dé Salles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ponciano AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Constituinte the free kick. In the 68th match minute, Ponciano AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dé Salles to maneuver through the defense. Dorival Trevisan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amílton Aparecido in the 78th minute of play. Enrique Guedes struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Dorival Trevisan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Constituinte.
