In the 5th minute Flávio Vergílio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerson do Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th match minute, Super Mengão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute of the match, Geovani Corrêa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nilton Pereira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 24th minute, Celsinho Siqueira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Francisco Teixeira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 28 minutes into the match, Super Mengão's goal looked a bit too open when André Luiz Ribeiro came free, but Francisco Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 minutes of play, Aguacu's Celsinho Siqueira made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisco Teixeira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Francisco Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Pimenta in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Aguacu booed when Super Mengão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovani Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that André Luiz Ribeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Teixeira was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. If Geovani Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 40 minutes, Ezequiel de Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Super Mengão's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ezequiel de Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nilton Pereira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel de Senna in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilmar Pimenta in the 47th minute of play forced Super Mengão's goalkeeper Francisco Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Luiz Ribeiro made a kick off. After 53 minutes, Gerson do Nascimento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aguacu and the Super Mengão players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gerson do Nascimento hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. It was beautiful to see Super Mengão's Geovani Corrêa in action when he in the 58th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Francisco Teixeira made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Celsinho Siqueira sent off a good shot on target. Super Mengão's Francisco Teixeira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Super Mengão from getting a goal against them. In the 76th minute, Aguacu's André Luiz Ribeiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Francisco Teixeira. Francisco Teixeira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Ezequiel de Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Super Mengão's Francisco Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luiz Ribeiro in the 83rd minute of play. Celsinho Siqueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Francisco Teixeira made a huge save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Aguacu eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
