After 9 minutes, Durvalino Eger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Democratico F.C. and the Tom Original FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Tom Original FC booed when Democratico F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durvalino Eger didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osmar Queirós during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ademar Marinho to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeferson França in the 55th minute of play forced Tom Original FC's goalkeeper Beto Campidelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Fábio Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Beto Campidelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beto Campidelis didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 61st minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. João de Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Democratico F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Democratico F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
