After 2 minutes, Edgard Pereira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CA 312 and the BANGÚ LUZIENSE players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, CA 312 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Benjamim Dionísio's late challenge caught a BANGÚ LUZIENSE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamim Dionísio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th minute, Benjamim Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 9 minutes, Diego Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BANGÚ LUZIENSE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Nunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André Luís Dracena in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ediberto Lira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benjamim Dionísio hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, BANGÚ LUZIENSE's Samuca Koehler tried to score from far away in the 21st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. CA 312's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Tony Paes 34 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. 38 minutes into the match, CA 312's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Cunha came free, but Wilton Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Diego Nunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wilton Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnaldo Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell André Luís Dracena to make the kick off. In the 56th match minute, BANGÚ LUZIENSE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmir Sanches to maneuver through the defense. Diego Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Pinheiro having to interfere. Ediberto Lira made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Baltazar Quintal sent off a good shot on target. Ediberto Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luís Dracena in the 65th minute of play. Tony Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to BANGÚ LUZIENSE getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Luiz Fabiano Maciel hit a great ball. Wilton Pinheiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tony Paes's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. 87 minutes into the game, BANGÚ LUZIENSE's Tony Paes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilton Pinheiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. When BANGÚ LUZIENSE's Diego Nunes in 91 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Wilton Pinheiro guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Diego Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind CA 312's goalkeeper Wilton Pinheiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Diego Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Wilton Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. BANGÚ LUZIENSE had played much better football throughout.
