With a little luck, Teresina GreenCity's Christian Schmidt got control of the ball when Gualter Lima tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Valdemar de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Osvaldo Quirino hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. NOVORIZONTINO's Romário Trigo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 12th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Teresina GreenCity. If Gualter Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Gualter Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Leopoldo Monteiro fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Teresina GreenCity's protests and gave Leopoldo Monteiro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Teresina GreenCity getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. The free kick resulted in a very good chance to score when Kaká Magalhães kicked a really tricky shot on goal. Christian Schmidt never had to step in, however, because the ball went just left of the goal. A collision led to Teresina GreenCity getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Valdemar de Moraes hit a great ball. 38 minutes into the game, Kaká Magalhães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NOVORIZONTINO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Teresina GreenCity the free kick. 41 minutes into the game, Yuri de Medeiros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Cauan Quintal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Yuri de Medeiros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cauan Quintal made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Valdemar de Moraes sent off a good shot on target. If Adelino Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yuri de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Cauan Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christian Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romário Trigo kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by NOVORIZONTINO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Renan do Valle was slow to take the kick. During this time Teresina GreenCity's players had a chance to rest. After 71 minutes, Léo Cordeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. Christian Schmidt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Léo Cordeiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 90 minutes had been played. A collision led to NOVORIZONTINO getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Léo Cordeiro hit a great ball. If Valdemar de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdemar de Moraes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cauan Quintal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
