The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Canan FC's Leonel Damião suffered a sore foot after 5 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The supporters of Canan FC booed when Zion F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Paulo Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Canan FC's Fiori de Senna couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 7th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Zion F.C. Vânderson Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fabiano Dracena having to interfere. With a little luck, Zion F.C's Luiz Fabiano Dracena got control of the ball when Vânderson Alves tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Aloísio Cordeiro came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Zion F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aloísio Cordeiro couldn't finish the play. If Vânderson Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aloísio Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Hermínio Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Douglas Bueno charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Douglas Bueno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 36 played minutes Canan FC got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Bueno. If Nando Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamin Arce charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benjamin Arce the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 41st match minute, Canan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Arce to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the match, Zion F.C's Orlando Melo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nando Peres during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute, Nando Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vânderson Alves to make the kick off. A very good chance. If Vânderson Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fabiano Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Douglas Bueno in the 79th minute of the match. When Douglas Bueno came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Canan FC fans jumped to their feet. In the 83rd minute, Vânderson Alves made a precise shot to the right of Luiz Fabiano Dracena. Zion F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After 86 minutes of play Zion F.C's Nando Peres was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Nando Peres kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Vânderson Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Zion F.C's zone, Vânderson Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fabiano Dracena came out of the goal and Vânderson Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Zion F.C getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Christian Lucas hit a great ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Canan FC fully deserved thier win.
