The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cauan Pernambucano took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luiz Guilherme Oliveira. Luiz Guilherme Oliveira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 7 minutes into the game, one of Helvecia SC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 14th minute Didi Britto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaká Capixaba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 played minutes Vila Barros City got a freekick which was hit by Davi Mesquita. A hard shot by Zeca Soeiro from long distance, 22 minutes into the match, got Kaká Capixaba's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Hélio Arce struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Kaká Capixaba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Helvecia SC. The long shot by Zeca Soeiro in the 25th minute really tested Kaká Capixaba's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Hélio Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Helvecia SC's Luiz Guilherme Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cauan Pernambucano in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Cauan Pernambucano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Luiz Guilherme Oliveira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kaká Capixaba didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 36th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. Aílton Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Cauan Pernambucano came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Vila Barros City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cauan Pernambucano couldn't finish the play. After the first half Vila Barros City were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Hélio Arce made the kick off in the second half. When Cauan Pernambucano fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vila Barros City's protests and gave Cauan Pernambucano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Cauan Pernambucano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélio Arce in the 56th minute of play forced Vila Barros City's goalkeeper Kaká Capixaba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute of the match, Cauan Pernambucano tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luiz Guilherme Oliveira saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Hélio Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kaká Capixaba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didi Britto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, one of Helvecia SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Helvecia SC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélio Arce in the 72nd minute of play forced Vila Barros City's goalkeeper Kaká Capixaba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute Hélio Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaká Capixaba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Helvecia SC's Hélio Arce nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kaká Capixaba made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. In the 81stth minute of the game Hélio Arce who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vila Barros City's Kaká Capixaba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Didi Britto came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Helvecia SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Didi Britto couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the match, Helvecia SC's goalkeeper Luiz Guilherme Oliveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodriguinho Queirós. Rodriguinho Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Luiz Guilherme Oliveira made a huge save. The Vila Barros City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vila Barros City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
