Vito Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Capixaba having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Cauan Pernambucano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lúcio Fantini, 1-1. In the 34th match minute, Vila Barros City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, Vila Barros City's goal looked a bit too open when Vito Sousa came free, but Kaká Capixaba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vila Barros City's Kaká Capixaba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vito Sousa in the 42nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Vila Barros City's zone, Vito Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kaká Capixaba came out of the goal and Vito Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 47 played minutes Vila Barros City got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr Vaz. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cauan Pernambucano was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vito Sousa in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kaká Capixaba saved Vila Barros City from getting behind. Bernardo's Lúcio Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodriguinho Queirós in the 62nd minute of play. Kaká Capixaba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vito Sousa's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Cauan Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vila Barros City's supporters rose to their feet, but Cauan Pernambucano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Fantini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Diego Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cauan Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Fantini having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Vito Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 87th minute, Celso Sampaio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kaká Capixaba was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 91st minute, Vito Sousa fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Vila Barros City's Kaká Capixaba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vito Sousa in the 97th minute of play. The Vila Barros City supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bernardo's performance. The match ended with a win for Bernardo.
