The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee felt a red card was in order, 3 minutes into the game, when Joélson Passos put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Juntalino Stars a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by David Ceresso, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of 10 de Setembro's Eugênio Falcão. 1-0. Eugênio Falcão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adilson Faria in the 8th minute. In the 13th of the match, Francisco de Moraes tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Eugênio Falcão got in the way and made a wonderful save. Francisco de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Eugênio Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, 10 de Setembro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vito Pena to maneuver through the defense. If Adilson Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, David Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugênio Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juntalino Stars's Adilson Faria got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicolas Vergílio hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Francisco de Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eugênio Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicolas Vergílio hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. When Francisco de Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Juntalino Stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco de Moraes couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute of the match, Adilson Faria got a very nice opportunity to score, but Eugênio Falcão was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Francisco de Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugênio Falcão having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jorge Simões to strike the kick off in the second half. Vito Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jonathan Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francisco de Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugênio Falcão having to interfere. Adilson Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Vito Pena fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 10 de Setembro's protests and gave Vito Pena a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd minute, Vito Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juntalino Stars's Adilson Faria managed to work through 10 de Setembro's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Adilson Faria dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Francisco de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Eugênio Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francisco de Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicolas Vergílio during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After recieving a nice pass, Juntalino Stars's David Ceresso tried to score from far away in the 94th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Juntalino Stars had played much better football throughout.
