An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovânio Freitas in the 18th minute of play forced Queimasangue's goalkeeper Maurício da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benê Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugênio Falcão having to interfere. In the 21st minute, one of 10 de Setembro:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for 10 de Setembro. After the first half Queimasangue were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Luisão Porto made the kick off in the second half. When Benê Schmidt came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Queimasangue fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benê Schmidt couldn't finish the play. When Diamantino da Silveira fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 10 de Setembro's protests and gave Diamantino da Silveira a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute, Diamantino da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maurício da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovânio Freitas in the 63rd minute of the match. Edu Santos's late challenge caught a 10 de Setembro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edu Santos helped the player get up and apologised. Edu Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 88th minute of the match Jano Sarmento sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maurício da Silveira skillfully saved the ball. Benê Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute Geovânio Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurício da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind 10 de Setembro's goalkeeper Eugênio Falcão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luisão Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicolas Vergílio charged in rather forcefully in the 99th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicolas Vergílio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Queimasangue booed when 10 de Setembro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Vergílio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Queimasangue's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
