Hernani Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute Percy Queiroz suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 28 minutes into the game, Joélson Baptista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Esporte Clube Bahia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Morrinhos SS the free kick. After a rather tough play, Esporte Clube Bahia's Joélson Baptista got a free kick in the 29th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Bahia's goal looked a bit too open when Enéas Trigo came free, but Narciso Novaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 33 minutes, David da Fonseca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esporte Clube Bahia and the Morrinhos SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Esporte Clube Bahia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Narciso Novaes should have stopped the shot. After having played for 38 minutes, Enéas Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Morrinhos SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enéas Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sílvio Luís Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Morrinhos SS's Enéas Trigo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Narciso Novaes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 45th match minute, Esporte Clube Bahia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Esteves to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Hernani Neiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esporte Clube Bahia's supporters rose to their feet, but Hernani Neiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuca Vides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Esporte Clube Bahia's Narciso Novaes got control of the ball when Enéas Trigo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hernani Neiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuca Vides read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. The Esporte Clube Bahia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Vágner Sergipano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Esporte Clube Bahia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Morrinhos SS's performance. The match ended with a win for Morrinhos SS.
