Afonso Urbano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Afonso Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernando Paiva in the 18th minute of the match. After 18 played minutes S.E.Bergamini - FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Agostinho Alves. Valdo Leal took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dadá de Barros. Dadá de Barros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gernando Paiva in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Afonso Urbano saved S.E.Bergamini - FDFDF from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sílvio Luiz Brasil during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 46 minutes, Gernando Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caxias's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gernando Paiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the S.E.Bergamini - FDFDF defense, Gernando Paiva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Afonso Urbano. The S.E.Bergamini - FDFDF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Afonso Urbano should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sílvio Luiz Brasil stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Afonso Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Paiva in the 53rd minute of play. After 54 played minutes S.E.Bergamini - FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luiz Brasil. Gernando Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Afonso Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the S.E.Bergamini - FDFDF players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Caxias.
