Clóvis Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Vergílio in the 9th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tejuco's zone, Mathias Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dieguinho Faria came out of the goal and Mathias Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Serafim Ferraz hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Clóvis Ferreira came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Tejuco's Allan Vergílio. But to his dismay, Allan Vergílio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Allan Vergílio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 25th minute there was a penalty for Tejuco. Natanael Alagoano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Clóvis Ferreira. 1-2. If Rogério Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 43rd minute, Luizinho Saldanha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tejuco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mathias Leão was the one to do the kick off. Clóvis Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizinho Saldanha in the 53rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Luizinho Saldanha put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Clóvis Ferreira. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Vergílio got free with Clóvis Ferreira in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tejuco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Vergílio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizinho Saldanha in the 74th minute of play forced MoNsTaRs's goalkeeper Clóvis Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomé Peres hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The supporters of MoNsTaRs booed when Tejuco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mathias Leão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dieguinho Faria read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Clóvis Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Vergílio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute Luizinho Saldanha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clóvis Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luizinho Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Ferreira having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Tejuco walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
