Spectators: 7227 (Terracing: 5422, Seating: 1662, VIP seats: 143) Itanhem SS's Wesley Quadros started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. H Romeu F.C's Fiori Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléber Dionísio in the 6th minute of play. After 7 minutes, Dorival Simão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itanhem SS and the H Romeu F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Itanhem SS's Dorival Simão got a free kick in the 7th minute. Richard Veiga was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 8th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ismael Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. José Paulo Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Claudinho Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wesley Quadros kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Betinho Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiori Pombal having to interfere. Dinei Xavier hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Wesley Quadros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Fiori Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Wesley Quadros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fiori Pombal was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. If Luisinho Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wesley Quadros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to H Romeu F.C getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Dinei Xavier hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, Itanhem SS's Gabriel Valladares broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Fiori Pombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Betinho Paulista, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Quadros in the 38th minute of play forced H Romeu F.C's goalkeeper Fiori Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Betinho Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiori Pombal having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in H Romeu F.C's zone, Wesley Quadros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fiori Pombal came out of the goal and Wesley Quadros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ismael Lima received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. José Paulo Camargo came out and tried to block the shot, but Ismael Lima slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 43rd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After having played for 52 minutes, Betinho Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itanhem SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betinho Paulista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Wesley Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Betinho Paulista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Fiori Pombal made a huge save. When Betinho Paulista fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itanhem SS's protests and gave Betinho Paulista a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Itanhem SS's Betinho Paulista got a free kick in the 61st minute. 63 minutes into the game, Luisinho Melo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. José Paulo Camargo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Wesley Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, H Romeu F.C's Luisinho Baptista got a free kick in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Quadros in the 84th minute of play forced H Romeu F.C's goalkeeper Fiori Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wesley Quadros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fiori Pombal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Gabriel Valladares shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for H Romeu F.C's Fiori Pombal to catch but Gabriel Valladares was lucky. It became 2-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. In the 94th minute, Wesley Quadros fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 96 minutes into the match, H Romeu F.C's goalkeeper Fiori Pombal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Betinho Paulista.
