After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Luciano França managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itanhem SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano França was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albertinho Velloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pojuquinha's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Wesley Quadros 40 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gonçalo Duarte to strike the kick off in the second half. Betinho Paulista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albertinho Velloso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. If Wesley Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Wesley Quadros managed to get in a good position for a shot.
