When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dedé Freitas made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Iabete FC's zone, Júnior Botelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Augusto Perez came out of the goal and Júnior Botelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to MONTES CLAROS F. C. getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Kiko Damião hit a great ball. Dedé Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th match minute, Iabete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Cosme to maneuver through the defense. Marco Secco took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcos Guilherme. MONTES CLAROS F. C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Marcos Guilherme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Augusto Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Eriberto Medeiros's late challenge caught a Iabete FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
