When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Carlos Fernando de Salles took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Diguinho Vargas to make any attempt to save it. Diguinho Vargas made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Francisco Teixeira sent off a good shot on target. Noel Barreto struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Diguinho Vargas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlhetic Chapacoense. In the 22nd match minute, Caldeirão Paranense F C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurinho Antunes to maneuver through the defense. If Maurinho Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alexandre Prestes kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Carlos Fernando de Salles might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diguinho Vargas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Fernando de Salles ran back to his position shaking his head. 32 minutes into the match, Atlhetic Chapacoense's goal looked a bit too open when Deivid Goiano came free, but Nicolas Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Carlos Fernando de Salles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diguinho Vargas was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Vágner Mineiro charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vágner Mineiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 42nd minute, Carlos Fernando de Salles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Atlhetic Chapacoense's Fábio Pereira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Diguinho Vargas. Diguinho Vargas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Carlos Fernando de Salles in the 47thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Diguinho Vargas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Fernando de Salles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Amauri de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlhetic Chapacoense's supporters rose to their feet, but Amauri de Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diguinho Vargas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 54th minute Carlos Fernando de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diguinho Vargas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diguinho Vargas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amauri de Souza in the 56th minute of the match. Caldeirão Paranense F C's Maurinho Arantes got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Carlos Fernando de Salles came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Atlhetic Chapacoense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Fernando de Salles couldn't finish the play. If Carlos Fernando de Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Magno Mineiro kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After having played for 69 minutes, Alexandre Prestes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlhetic Chapacoense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Prestes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 71 played minutes Caldeirão Paranense F C got a freekick which was hit by Christian Torres. In the 73rd minute, Carlos Fernando de Salles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Fernando de Salles struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Diguinho Vargas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. In the 97thth minute of the game Carlos Fernando de Salles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caldeirão Paranense F C's Diguinho Vargas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee ended the match the Atlhetic Chapacoense players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
