In the 17th match minute, Monsanto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michel Pombal to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, Fenix FC's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Pombal came free, but Adhemar Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Eduardo Antunes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Dinei Bueno made a huge save. Adhemar Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Nuno Veloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenix FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuno Veloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dinei Bueno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Eduardo Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Bueno having to interfere. With a little luck, Monsanto's Dinei Bueno got control of the ball when Carlos Eduardo Antunes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute Inácio Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adhemar Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Monsanto walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
