The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Doriva Cosme struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. A wasted opportunity for Gramal FC. 6 minutes into the match, Monsanto's goal looked a bit too open when Doriva Cosme came free, but Dinei Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raúl Sampaio's late challenge caught a Gramal FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raúl Sampaio helped the player get up and apologised. Raúl Sampaio hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Gramal FC's Doriva Cosme got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36thth minute of the game Doriva Cosme who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monsanto's Dinei Bueno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Monsanto's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Leme came free, but Dinei Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Doriva Cosme might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dinei Bueno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Doriva Cosme ran back to his position shaking his head. Gramal FC's attentive Ramiro Leme managed to snatch the ball when Ernani Novaes made a throw-in in the 40th minute of the game. Doriva Cosme might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dinei Bueno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Doriva Cosme ran back to his position shaking his head. Dinei Bueno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doriva Cosme in the 44th minute of play. Ramiro Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Bueno having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when Luizão Rodrigues put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Gramal FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Monsanto:s goal. The referee gave Monsanto a penalty, 50 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ulisses Freire, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gramal FC's Mateus Mello. 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Michel Pombal made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Doriva Cosme dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dinei Bueno, 1-3. If Doriva Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Lino Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gramal FC's Mateus Mello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Quintal in the 63rd minute of play. Doriva Cosme who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Dinei Bueno when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gramal FC's Lino Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Gramal FC's Dinei Bueno threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Doriva Cosme, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 69th minute Lino Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Doriva Cosme put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Dinei Bueno. Gramal FC's Doriva Cosme got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81st minute Doriva Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Doriva Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doriva Cosme struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. In the 92ndth minute of the game Doriva Cosme who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monsanto's Dinei Bueno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lino Prado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Doriva Cosme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gramal FC played a much better game than Monsanto and deserved their victory. The Monsanto players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
