MEC's Pedrinho Bueno got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jefferson Furtado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruninho de Sena's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrinho Bueno in the 12th minute of play forced PARANÁ CLUBE's goalkeeper Jefferson Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lauro Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Wiliam Souto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, MEC's goal looked a bit too open when Lauro Palmeira came free, but Wiliam Souto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lauro Palmeira scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wiliam Souto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26th match minute, MEC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Márcio Berger to maneuver through the defense. Wiliam Souto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauro Palmeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 39 minutes, Agnaldo Bertassi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PARANÁ CLUBE and the MEC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of MEC booed when PARANÁ CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agnaldo Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedrinho Bueno to strike the kick off in the second half. Pedrinho Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson Furtado having to interfere. After having played for 54 minutes, Pedrinho Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MEC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedrinho Bueno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th minute, Pedrinho Bueno made a precise shot to the right of Jefferson Furtado. PARANÁ CLUBE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. PARANÁ CLUBE's Jefferson Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrinho Bueno in the 61st minute of play. A collision led to MEC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Bruninho de Sena hit a great ball. 68 minutes into the game, Pedrinho Bueno cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Jefferson Furtado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Márcio Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Jefferson Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, MEC's goal looked a bit too open when Lauro Palmeira came free, but Wiliam Souto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 82 minutes, Kyknos Theodoratos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MEC and the PARANÁ CLUBE players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Pedrinho Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedrinho Bueno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jefferson Furtado having to make a save. After a rather tough play, PARANÁ CLUBE's Osvaldinho Schmidt got a free kick in the 89th minute. Pedrinho Bueno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedrinho Bueno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. MEC had played much better football throughout.
