Vito Ramos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Wilton Batista made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Ezequiel do Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tricolor Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Ezequiel do Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Délio Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of RafaelFC booed when Tricolor Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Augusto Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, RafaelFC's Donato Diniz got a free kick in the 20th minute. Ian Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Batista having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Vito Ramos took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Wilton Batista to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Tricolor Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Régis Mesquita hit a great ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Donato Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RafaelFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donato Diniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vito Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Batista having to interfere. Wilton Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benê Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ezequiel do Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. Benê Mandrak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Wilton Batista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Délio Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jardel Trevisan, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Délio Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezequiel do Nascimento in the 76th minute of the match. If Benê Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Diniz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute Benê Mandrak suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Dito Motta fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tricolor Futebol Clube's protests and gave Dito Motta a yellow card for diving instead. Dito Motta kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ezequiel do Nascimento got free with Délio Godoi in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in RafaelFC's zone, Ezequiel do Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Délio Godoi came out of the goal and Ezequiel do Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
