But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrinho Bueno couldn't finish the play. Wesley Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiliam Souto having to interfere. Diego Melo's late challenge caught a MEC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diego Melo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute, one of Tricolor Futebol Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tricolor Futebol Clube. In the 47th match minute, MEC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Vítor Sarmento to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedrinho Bueno to strike the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 54 minutes, Wilton Batista successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Pedrinho Bueno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Pedrinho Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Wesley Trigo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tricolor Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 77thth minute of the game Ezequiel do Nascimento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MEC's Wiliam Souto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Carlos Augusto Matorin fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tricolor Futebol Clube's protests and gave Carlos Augusto Matorin a yellow card for diving instead. Wiliam Souto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
