But to his dismay, Ezequiel do Nascimento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Cesinha Perez charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cesinha Perez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dário Ferraz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ezequiel do Nascimento in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luisinho Machado, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Tricolor Futebol Clube's Ezequiel do Nascimento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luisinho Machado. That made the score 0-3 after 71 minutes of play. In the 77th minute, Germano Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Dito Motta fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tricolor Futebol Clube's protests and gave Dito Motta a yellow card for diving instead. Dito Motta kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After 83 played minutes Tabao got a freekick which was hit by Denílson Queiroz. Jardel Trevisan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Luisinho Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Tricolor Futebol Clube supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tricolor Futebol Clube would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
