PARANÁ CLUBE's Jefferson Furtado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save PARANÁ CLUBE from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Tales Teles took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jefferson Furtado to make any attempt to save it. Celso Porto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jefferson Furtado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. In the 16th match minute, PARANÁ CLUBE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, Jefferson Furtado successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Dênis Romero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lauro Palmeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celso Porto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Francisco Pinheiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Dênis Romero made a huge save. Mané Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After having played for 56 minutes, Tales Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The coaching staff of Barcelona protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Daniel Senna had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of PARANÁ CLUBE booed when Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball.
