Alexsandro Loyola's late challenge caught a Sacramento's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexsandro Loyola helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sacramento booed when E.C. CORINTHIANS LINENSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexsandro Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Geovanni Borges's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anísio Cordeiro was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Geovanni Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Anísio Cordeiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vito Vidal in the 29th minute of play forced Sacramento's goalkeeper Enrique Simão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geovanni Borges in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anísio Cordeiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anísio Cordeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanni Borges in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, E.C. CORINTHIANS LINENSE's Alexsandro Loyola got a free kick in the 36th minute. Geovanni Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 39th minute, Denílson Damião got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Vito Vidal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Enrique Simão, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovanni Borges in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anísio Cordeiro saved E.C. CORINTHIANS LINENSE from getting behind. Victor Cerezo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Anísio Cordeiro made a huge save. Anísio Cordeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute Geovanni Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anísio Cordeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
