Spectators: 7218 (Terracing: 5415, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) Triangulo's Henrique Azevedo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Jânio Mesquita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Facao AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Triangulo the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Damião in the 12th minute of play forced Triangulo's goalkeeper Baltazar Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henrique Azevedo got in the 14th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Orlando Bezerra handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. A collision led to Facao AD getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Claudinho Berger hit a great ball. Waldemar Luz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Orlando Bezerra made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Damião in the 29th minute of play forced Triangulo's goalkeeper Baltazar Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Triangulo's Baltazar Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Damião in the 31st minute of play. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Luiz Fabiano Schmidt sped through Triangulo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Baltazar Camargo. After having played for 37 minutes, Diogo Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Facao AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diogo Damião was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39th minute Diogo Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltazar Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th match minute, Triangulo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betinho Neto to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Betinho Neto during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Triangulo's Betinho Neto got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute Diogo Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltazar Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Triangulo defense, Diogo Damião kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Baltazar Camargo. The Triangulo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Baltazar Camargo should have stopped the shot. Baltazar Camargo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Luiz Fabiano Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Camargo having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diogo Damião was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Triangulo booed when Facao AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enio Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Fabiano Schmidt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Facao AD getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Luiz Fabiano Schmidt hit a great ball. In the 61st minute, Diogo Damião got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Baltazar Camargo managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Facao AD's Diogo Damião fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luiz Fabiano Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Camargo having to interfere. Triangulo's Baltazar Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Damião in the 66th minute of play. Luiz Fabiano Schmidt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Baltazar Camargo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Baltazar Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diogo Damião in the 72nd minute of play. If Waldemar Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Facao AD's zone, Henrique Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orlando Bezerra came out of the goal and Henrique Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Baltazar Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diogo Damião in the 87th minute of play. Wesley Branco hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Facao AD played a much better game than Triangulo and deserved their victory. The Triangulo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
