With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Paulo Fernandez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guilherme Vinhas in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Paulo Fernandez saved Pirangy FC from getting behind. 32 minutes into the game, Pirangy FC's Omar Sanduru nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruninho Alves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guilherme Vinhas got free with Zé Paulo Fernandez in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Pirangy FC's zone, Guilherme Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Paulo Fernandez came out of the goal and Guilherme Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zé Paulo Fernandez stood somewhat misplaced when Guilherme Vinhas came free in front of goal and shot 2-2 to the left of him in the 43 minute. Gualter Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After 51 played minutes Pirangy FC got a freekick which was hit by Henrique Messias. Cristóvão das Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Guilherme Vinhas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Paulo Fernandez was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pirangy FC's goalkeeper Zé Paulo Fernandez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
