Fernandão Dionísio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Orlando Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Fabiano Schmidt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Fernandão Dionísio made a huge save. After having played for 35 minutes, Luiz Fabiano Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Facao AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fabiano Schmidt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Diogo Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Facao AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernandão Dionísio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 38 minutes, Luiz Fabiano Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diogo Damião stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fernandão Dionísio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Fabiano Schmidt went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 56th minute Diogo Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandão Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jânio Mesquita charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jânio Mesquita the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Facao AD's goalkeeper Orlando Bezerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 71st minute by Tomé de Sousa got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Fabiano Schmidt in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernandão Dionísio saved Guarapari-ES Esporte Club from getting behind. A collision led to Guarapari-ES Esporte Club getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Adriano Severo hit a great ball. In the 84th minute Diogo Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandão Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Fabiano Schmidt struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Fernandão Dionísio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Facao AD. Erivaldo da Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Facao AD fans cheered their team off the field, for while Guarapari-ES Esporte Club had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
