Henrique Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernandão Dionísio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Guarapari-ES Esporte Club's Marcel Mandrak got a free kick in the 4th minute. Tomé de Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Waldemar Luz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Fernandão Dionísio made a huge save. Henrique Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 23 minutes into the game, Edson do Valle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Triangulo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guarapari-ES Esporte Club the free kick. After a rather tough play, Triangulo's Edson do Valle got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Jardel Paranaense took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Baltazar Camargo. Triangulo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Triangulo getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Arthur de Godoi hit a great ball. After 37 played minutes, Guarapari-ES Esporte Club's Jardel Paranaense shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Baltazar Camargo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Guarapari-ES Esporte Club reached it. If Henrique Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henrique Azevedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Triangulo getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Edson do Valle hit a great ball. Tomé de Sousa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Baltazar Camargo made a huge save. After having played for 62 minutes, Donato Paraíba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guarapari-ES Esporte Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donato Paraíba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baltazar Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Guarapari-ES Esporte Club's Donato Paraíba in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 81st minute Donato Paraíba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltazar Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Betinho Neto couldn't finish the play. Waldemar Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Henrique Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Triangulo's protests and gave Henrique Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Triangulo getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Henrique Azevedo hit a great ball. Tomé de Sousa struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Baltazar Camargo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guarapari-ES Esporte Club. In the 89th minute, Geovânio Chaves fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Baltazar Camargo, passed just outside the right post. Donato Paraíba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomé de Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baltazar Camargo came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Guarapari-ES Esporte Club's Donato Paraíba. But to his dismay, Donato Paraíba quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The Guarapari-ES Esporte Club supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Guarapari-ES Esporte Club would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
