In the 19th minute, Gilson Vander fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Laerte Gerber, passed just outside the right post. Gilson Vander struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Laerte Gerber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jeru SS. After having played for 24 minutes, Guga de Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jeru SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guga de Godoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chiquinho Passos hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Guga de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Laerte Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guga de Godoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Laerte Gerber read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Inajaroba FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Guga de Godoi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 36 minutes into the match, Inajaroba FC's Percival Vargas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Agnaldo Sergipano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Jeru SS booed when Inajaroba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fábio Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Nuno Lima in the 39th minute really tested Laerte Gerber's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. With his leg Laerte Gerber managed to avoid a goal in the 42ndth minute, when Jeru SS's Guga de Godoi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 45 minutes into the match, Jeru SS's goal looked a bit too open when Percival Vargas came free, but Agnaldo Sergipano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The wind increased when Gilson Vander made the kick off in the second half. Gilson Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte Gerber having to interfere. Guga de Godoi might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Laerte Gerber. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guga de Godoi ran back to his position shaking his head. Jeru SS's Guga de Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilson Vander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Laerte Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Inajaroba FC's Percival Vargas in the 70th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Agnaldo Sergipano was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Jeru SS through an amazing save. Laerte Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Vander in the 71st minute of the match. If Ernani Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78thth minute of the game Gilson Vander who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inajaroba FC's Laerte Gerber was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Jeru SS's Guga de Godoi in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Inajaroba FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 82nd minute, Falcão Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilson Vander struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Laerte Gerber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jeru SS. Inajaroba FC's Laerte Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilson Vander in the 85th minute of play. Jeru SS were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
