Marquinhos de Lara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Abel das Neves made a huge save. Cléberson Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egídio Valle in the 21st minute of play. Egídio Valle scored 1-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cléberson Coelho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th minute, Pedro Prestes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marquinhos de Laras short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Abel das Neves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Abel das Neves stood somewhat misplaced when Wanderson Quirino came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 40 minute. Raimundo da Fonseca's late challenge caught a Cadeado's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
