Brutamontes's Percy Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilton Siqueira in the 3rd minute of play. Percy Prestes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nilton Siqueira went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Percy Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio de Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Toscano in the 13th minute of play forced S.C. Brutamontes's goalkeeper Percy Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 20 played minutes Edson gol got a freekick which was hit by Edson Vasconcelos. With a little luck, Edson gol's Victor Salgado got control of the ball when Basílio Capixaba tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th match minute, Edson gol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilton Siqueira to maneuver through the defense. Aloísio Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Victor Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Victor Salgado managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when S.C. Brutamontes's Basílio Capixaba fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Victor Salgado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Basílio Capixaba's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. A collision led to Edson gol getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Júlio de Amaral hit a great ball. If Delfim Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Edson gol's Victor Salgado got control of the ball when Basílio Capixaba tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 48th minute, Ricardo Toscano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Laércio de Amaral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Basílio Capixaba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aloísio Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the match, Jaime Xavier notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Edson gol's Victor Salgado. Victor Salgado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of S.C. Brutamontes booed when Edson gol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademar Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aloísio Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basílio Capixaba blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Victor Salgado having to make a save. 78 minutes into the match, S.C. Brutamontes's goal looked a bit too open when Laércio de Amaral came free, but Percy Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basílio Capixaba struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Victor Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.C. Brutamontes. Aloísio Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Salgado having to interfere. If Basílio Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Betão Loureiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 90th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Victor Salgado. Edson gol's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ricardo Toscano might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Percy Prestes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricardo Toscano ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. S.C. Brutamontes fully deserved thier win.
