HOPE FC's Frank Penha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save HOPE FC from getting a goal against them. When Zézinho Ceresso fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ja matei saudade's protests and gave Zézinho Ceresso a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th match minute, Ja matei saudade was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zézinho Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. After 22 played minutes HOPE FC got a freekick which was hit by Rafinha Siqueira. A hard shot by Cássio Torres from long distance, 23 minutes into the match, got Frank Penha's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gernando Velasco couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Velasco in the 45th minute of play forced Ja matei saudade's goalkeeper Leonardo Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

In the 51st match minute, Ja matei saudade was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomás Guedes to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gernando Velasco got free with Leonardo Luz in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 1-2 became the score in the 98th minute when Hermínio Freire elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
