Ian Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Luz having to interfere. Falcão Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Luz having to interfere. Ian Lira might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonardo Luz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ian Lira ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Zézinho Ceresso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Júnior Lucas. That made the score 1-1 in the 44 minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Zézinho Ceresso made the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes Ja matei saudade got a freekick which was hit by Simão da Mata. Leonardo Luz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Júnior Lucas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabiano das Neves's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. The Itaquarari supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Itaquarari would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
