Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Matutina's Natanael de Sousa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Mensageiros da paz booed when Matutina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Simão didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 9 minutes into the game, when Dorival Paraibano put in a rough tackle. 9 minutes into the game, one of Mensageiros da paz:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Pedro Luiz Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Almeida in the 14th minute of play. Natanael de Sousa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, Breno Marinho skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Matutina booed when Mensageiros da paz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmir Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. Breno Marinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Natanael de Sousa's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 32nd minute, Gilberto Urbano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Breno Marinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Natanael de Sousa in the 43rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Natanael de Sousa in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Breno Marinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sidney Almeida made a kick off. Sidney Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Pedro Luiz Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matutina's Pedro Luiz Lopez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Matutina from getting a goal against them. Dinei das Neves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Breno Marinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. After 56 minutes of play Matutina's Luís Eduardo Seco was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Luís Eduardo Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Breno Marinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Túlio Valle in the 62nd minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, Sidney Almeida cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Pedro Luiz Lopez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpected shot in the 70th minute by Sidney Almeida got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Matutina's Natanael de Sousa got a free kick in the 75th minute. Thiago Trancoso hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Dinei das Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Breno Marinho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dinei das Neves went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Thiago Trancoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Dinei das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matutina's supporters rose to their feet, but Dinei das Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Breno Marinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Despite being the better team, Matutina failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
