Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Afonso Vidal kicked off to start the match. Oséias Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Zonta having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Iriri's zone, Claudinho Vargas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Murillo Lopez came out of the goal and Claudinho Vargas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute, Luís Fernando Motta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Murillo Lopez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Claudinho Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murillo Lopez having to interfere. Flavinho Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Vidal in the 18th minute of the match. After 21 minutes, Décio Ceresso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itapuan AD and the Iriri players grew even worse after the yellow card. Décio Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Murillo Lopez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flavinho Zonta didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 30th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Paulo Renato Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, one of Iriri:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Iriri. 42 minutes into the match, Décio Ceresso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Murillo Lopez. Iriri's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Décio Ceresso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Fernando Motta during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Iriri booed when Itapuan AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fernando Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudinho Vargas to strike the kick off in the second half. The attack was good, but when Paulo Renato Peixoto in the 58th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Murillo Lopez was a little too slow when Claudinho Vargas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 2-3. Claudinho Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Murillo Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dé Dias hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. When Dé Dias fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iriri's protests and gave Dé Dias a yellow card for diving instead. Dé Dias hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Claudinho Vargas struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Murillo Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itapuan AD. Murillo Lopez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Iriri's Glauco Camargo got a free kick in the 80th minute. The audience was convinced that Afonso Vidal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flavinho Zonta was relentless in the 84th minute of the game.
