To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, Delvino FC's goalkeeper Dráusio Mazza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marco Abraão. Eugênio Campidelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Guilherme Branco having to interfere. Eugênio Campidelis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Guilherme Branco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eugênio Campidelis to make the kick off. The referee gave Subiu Esporte Clube a penalty, 55 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Magno Toledo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Delvino FC's Dráusio Mazza. 1-0. Afonsinho Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Luís Guilherme Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dráusio Mazza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bebeto Bittencourt went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 93 minutes into the match, Subiu Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Luís Guilherme Branco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luisão Falcão. Subiu Esporte Clube's Bebeto Bittencourt got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marco Abraão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Delvino FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
