Silvinho Pimenta made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Arlindo Salgado sent off a good shot on target. Luiz Paulo Custódio's late challenge caught a C.A. Metropolitano U18's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Paulo Custódio helped the player get up and apologised. Potyrendaba's Jarbas Souto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeu Couto in the 22nd minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jarbas Souto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Matías Prata fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Potyrendaba's protests and gave Matías Prata a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of C.A. Metropolitano U18 booed when Potyrendaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matías Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cacá Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kaká Castro to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee gave Délio Prado a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 59th match minute, C.A. Metropolitano U18 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Délio Prado to maneuver through the defense. Romeu Couto might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jarbas Souto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romeu Couto ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Arlindo Salgado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Silvinho Pimenta was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
