After 8 played minutes Cipotanea got a freekick which was hit by Dalmo Lima. 12 minutes into the game, Augusto Ramos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. St. Katherine s Docks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cipotanea the free kick. The supporters of Cipotanea booed when St. Katherine s Docks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 13 played minutes, Cipotanea's Dudu Quadros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Renan Montenegro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cipotanea reached it. Renan Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlinhos Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 19th minute Luiz Guilherme Batista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renan Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robinho Sarmento in the 26th minute of play forced Cipotanea's goalkeeper César Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlinhos Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Renan Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlinhos Sampaio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlinhos Sampaio in the 38th minute of play forced St. Katherine s Docks's goalkeeper Renan Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Arthur Albuquerque managed to get in a good position for a shot. St. Katherine s Docks's supporters rose to their feet, but Arthur Albuquerque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. César Vides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to St. Katherine s Docks getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Váldson Bertassi hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luiz Guilherme Batista made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Carlinhos Sampaio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augusto Ramos hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. 55 minutes into the match, Cipotanea's Luiz Guilherme Batista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Renan Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Carlinhos Sampaio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cipotanea fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Robinho Sarmento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but César Vides read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. The supporters of St. Katherine s Docks booed when Cipotanea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Robinho Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 83 minutes into the match, Cipotanea's Dalmo Lima sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Renan Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Cipotanea's Luiz Guilherme Batista slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Renan Montenegro. That made the score 1-3 after 90 minutes of play. Gil Tinoco might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Renan Montenegro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gil Tinoco ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 97 minutes, Carlinhos Sampaio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cipotanea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlinhos Sampaio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
