Spectators: 7198 (Terracing: 5400, Seating: 1655, VIP seats: 143) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Davi Alves kicked off to start the match. Conrado Cardozo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Magno Souza in the 4th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Davi Alves in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdir Madureira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valdir Madureira came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Floripa United's Fernandão Freitas. But to his dismay, Fernandão Freitas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Artur Lopez charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artur Lopez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th minute, Artur Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, Magno Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fiori de Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fiori de Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Saldanha's Valdir Madureira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Saldanha from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernandão Freitas got free with Valdir Madureira in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fiori de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Madureira having to interfere. Fernandão Freitas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Valdir Madureira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 33 minutes of play, Saldanha's Cipriano Arantes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Conrado Cardozo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Saldanha's Ricardo Sá got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valdir Madureira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davi Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Davi Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Valdir Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Davi Alves received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdir Madureira came out and tried to block the shot, but Davi Alves slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Valdir Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandão Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Saldanha's Valdir Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandão Freitas in the 57th minute of play. Saldanha were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Floripa United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcinho Xavier took the corner. Genílson Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Madureira having to interfere. In the 74th minute Fernandão Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernandão Freitas in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdir Madureira saved Saldanha from getting behind. Cipriano Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Ricardo Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Magno Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Saldanha's Allan Loureiro got a free kick in the 94th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Saldanha's zone, Genílson Nóbrega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdir Madureira came out of the goal and Genílson Nóbrega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
