Spectators: 7303 (Terracing: 5513, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 100) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sérgio Sanches kicked off to start the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adolfo Cresconio got free with Sidney Braga in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With 13 minutes on the clock, Diguinho Lopez commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Itaperuna-RJ! After 16 minutes Itaperuna-RJ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sandro Netto who took care of the corner kick. After 16 played minutes Cairú Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Valle. When Itaperuna-RJ's Fred Paulista in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When José Pedro Sá fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itaperuna-RJ's protests and gave José Pedro Sá a yellow card for diving instead. José Pedro Sá kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Itaperuna-RJ's Mateus Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Sanches in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Paulista in the 28th minute of play forced Cairú Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Sidney Braga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fred Paulista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Sidney Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Fred Paulista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sidney Braga was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. If Adolfo Cresconio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fred Paulista struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Sidney Braga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaperuna-RJ. When Fred Paulista came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Itaperuna-RJ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fred Paulista couldn't finish the play. Adolfo Cresconio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Sidney Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Itaperuna-RJ's Fred Paulista slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sidney Braga. That made the score 2-0 after 44 minutes of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fred Paulista to strike the kick off in the second half. Fred Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Cairú Futebol Clube's zone, Fred Paulista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidney Braga came out of the goal and Fred Paulista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adolfo Cresconio struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Sidney Braga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaperuna-RJ. The supporters of Itaperuna-RJ booed when Cairú Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Nóbrega didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute, Fred Paulista left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itaperuna-RJ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Adolfo Cresconio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney Braga having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Fred Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaperuna-RJ's supporters rose to their feet, but Fred Paulista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sidney Braga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristóvão Batista charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristóvão Batista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Cairú Futebol Clube:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Itaperuna-RJ:s goal. Jaime Pena walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 87 minutes into the match, Cairú Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Paulista came free, but Sidney Braga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. During the 91st minute of the match Cristóvão Batista completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cristóvão Batista a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 92nd minute, Cristóvão Batista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Cairú Futebol Clube's Sandro Netto got a free kick in the 94th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André de Moraes during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. André de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Itaperuna-RJ's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
