After 12 played minutes Orcs of City FC got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar Sanches. In the 15th minute, Sandro Netto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dé Tinoco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18thth minute of the game Andrézinho Neves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cairú Futebol Clube's Sidney Braga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 20 minutes, Andrézinho Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Orcs of City FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrézinho Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sérgio Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Luís Penha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sérgio Sanches's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Penha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. If Dé Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narciso Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Sérgio Sanches kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luís Penha. That made the score 1-1 in the 38 minute of play. In the 44th minute, Fred Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, one of Orcs of City FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Orcs of City FC. Sandro Netto shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sérgio Sanches was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute of the match Cairú Futebol Clube got a corner. Orcs of City FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sandro Netto ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Sebastião Pernambucano managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Zé Paulo Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Renatinho Leal hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Sidney Braga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrézinho Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Narciso Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Penha having to interfere. Luís Penha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sérgio Sanches, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Andrézinho Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney Braga having to interfere. Luís Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Sanches in the 94th minute of play.
