Wilson Alagoano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raí Bezerra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of Ponte Branca FC booed when SOKANELINHAS F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chicão Palmeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ponte Branca FC's Paulo de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Seco in the 67th minute of play. Ponte Branca FC's Diguinho Mendes got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jefferson Perez charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Ponte Branca FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
