Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jairo Senna started the match with the kick off. Paulo de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ponte Branca FC's Paulo de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Senna in the 8th minute of play. After 10 played minutes Ponte Branca FC got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Vinhas. In the 12th minute Olívio Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Patitucci FC's Durvalino Secco got a free kick in the 14th minute. After 15 minutes, Olívio Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Patitucci FC and the Ponte Branca FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute, Olívio Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Patitucci FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Waldir Coutinho hit a great ball. Paulo de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Senna in the 21st minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Hélio da Cunha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Paulo de Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 29 minutes into the match, Ponte Branca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hélio da Cunha came free, but Paulo de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ponte Branca FC's Paulo de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olívio Reis in the 30th minute of play. Paulo de Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélio da Cunha in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Luiz Eduardo Falcão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dráuzio Massa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 44th match minute, Patitucci FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perivaldo Massa to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Luiz Eduardo Falcão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dráuzio Massa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Eduardo Falcão was the one to do the kick off. Aníbal dos Santos charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aníbal dos Santos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th match minute, Ponte Branca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aníbal dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. If Wilson Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 75 minutes, Hortêncio Vinhas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ponte Branca FC and the Patitucci FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 74th minute of the game. One of Ponte Branca FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Patitucci FC:s goal. If Luiz Eduardo Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paulo de Amaral came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Patitucci FC's Hélio da Cunha. But to his dismay, Hélio da Cunha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Patitucci FC's goalkeeper Dráuzio Massa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 99th minute, Hélio da Cunha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Patitucci FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-6. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Patitucci FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
