Jefferson Sarmento made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardinho Tasso in the 7th minute. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some careless play in the Queda defense, Luís Fabiano Xavier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benjamim Trancoso. The Queda fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benjamim Trancoso should have stopped the shot. After 27 minutes of play Itibira FC's Hortêncio Cavalcante was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Hortêncio Cavalcante hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Itibira FC's Cássio Moura got a free kick in the 30th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dito Queiroz in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jefferson Sarmento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Itibira FC's Jefferson Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dito Queiroz in the 33rd minute of play. Queda's Dito Queiroz got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernardinho Tasso in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jefferson Sarmento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 37 minutes, Cássio Moura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itibira FC and the Queda players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 37 played minutes Itibira FC got a freekick which was hit by Cássio Moura. With a little luck, Itibira FC's Jefferson Sarmento got control of the ball when Bernardinho Tasso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jefferson Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dito Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Queda's Dito Queiroz was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 45th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Fabiano Xavier to make the kick off. When Queda's Bernardinho Tasso in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Jefferson Sarmento was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Dito Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dito Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dito Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dito Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st match minute, Itibira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeu Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th play minute Luís Fabiano Xavier came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Benjamim Trancoso. 2-2. Jefferson Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardinho Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Romeu Vinhas fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itibira FC's protests and gave Romeu Vinhas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Queda. Norberto Batista stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jefferson Sarmento. 4-2.
