Betim FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mundeus the free kick. After 31 played minutes Betim FC got a freekick which was hit by Sidnei Lopez. Osvaldinho Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Furlan in the 35th minute of the match. Osvaldinho Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginaldo Falcão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Osvaldinho Borges successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 41 minutes into the match, Betim FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Furlan came free, but Osvaldinho Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dino Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Rodrigues having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 53rd minute Cristian Furlan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidnei Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the match, Betim FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Albuquerque came free, but Osvaldinho Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 67 minutes, Laércio Camargo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Betim FC and the Mundeus players grew even worse after the yellow card. Laércio Camargo kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Osvaldinho Borges made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Albuquerque in the 69th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Reginaldo Falcão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Osvaldinho Borges. Betim FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reginaldo Falcão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Betim FC's Osvaldinho Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Albuquerque in the 78th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mundeus's Reginaldo Falcão got a free kick in the 83rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Dino Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Betim FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dino Cardoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 87 minutes, Ademar Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Betim FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ademar Vidal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mundeus's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
