Itibira FC's Roger Pirani got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Itibira FC's Jefferson Sarmento got control of the ball when Dedé Goiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jefferson Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Luís Fabiano Xavier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Sidnei de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adalberto Paraense charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adalberto Paraense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th minute, Adalberto Paraense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonardo Travassos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sidnei de Mendonça. Itaquahy FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Dedé Goiano took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jefferson Sarmento to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Itibira FC's Cássio Moura got a free kick in the 25th minute. Itaquahy FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zeca Vale in the 27th minute. A nice corner shot did that Zeca Vale got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jefferson Sarmento quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Leonardo Travassos fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itibira FC's protests and gave Leonardo Travassos a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Itaquahy FC booed when Itibira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zeca Vale was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Orlando Negri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jefferson Sarmento didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 36th minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. Dedé Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Dedé Goiano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itaquahy FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 53 played minutes Itibira FC got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Cavalcante. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Dedé Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaquahy FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dedé Goiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jefferson Sarmento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 59th minute, Roger Pirani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sidnei de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Pirani, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Itaquahy FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Roger Pirani 64 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-1. Dedé Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dedé Goiano struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Jefferson Sarmento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaquahy FC. Jefferson Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Negri in the 76th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Arthur Messias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Itaquahy FC's Sidnei de Mendonça proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Itaquahy FC from getting a goal against them. Jefferson Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 96 minutes of play, Itaquahy FC's Orlando Negri made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jefferson Sarmento was left in no man's land by his defense there!
