If Lúcio Linares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. VASCO DA GAMA 1898's Carlos Augusto Capixaba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Silva in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute, Jonas Baptista left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SEG - DF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 35 minutes into the match, VASCO DA GAMA 1898's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Silva came free, but Carlos Augusto Capixaba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute, Jonas Baptista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Augusto Capixaba was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Claudinho Dionísio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Augusto Capixaba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind SEG - DF's goalkeeper Alfredo Tróia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Roger Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonas Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roger Silva might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Augusto Capixaba. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roger Silva ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlos Augusto Capixaba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Baptista in the 76th minute of the match. SEG - DF's Roger Silva managed to work through VASCO DA GAMA 1898's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Roger Silva dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 79 minutes into the match, VASCO DA GAMA 1898's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Baptista came free, but Carlos Augusto Capixaba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvério Vides kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. When Aírton Moura fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VASCO DA GAMA 1898's protests and gave Aírton Moura a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to VASCO DA GAMA 1898 getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Aírton Moura hit a great ball. The supporters of VASCO DA GAMA 1898 booed when SEG - DF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erivaldo Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudinho Dionísio in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Augusto Capixaba saved VASCO DA GAMA 1898 from getting behind. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. SEG - DF had played much better football throughout.
