After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Severino Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibitiuna's supporters rose to their feet, but Severino Porto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinho Trigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Luís Fernando Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Maktub's Dadá Urbano got a free kick in the 9th minute. Ibitiuna's Severino Porto got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vicente Sá kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After having played for 14 minutes, Acácio França managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maktub's supporters crossed their fingers, but Acácio França was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Maktub's Acácio França sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benê Berger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luís Fernando Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Trigo having to interfere. After having played for 27 minutes, Raphael Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maktub's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raphael Baiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benê Berger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Acácio França, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 30th match minute, Maktub was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlindo Lago to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Porto in the 33rd minute of play forced Maktub's goalkeeper Claudinho Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Ibitiuna's zone, Raphael Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benê Berger came out of the goal and Raphael Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Acácio França in the 67th minute of play forced Ibitiuna's goalkeeper Benê Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Maktub's Arlindo Lago got a free kick in the 78th minute. Claudinho Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fernando Tepedino in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Ibitiuna's goal looked a bit too open when Acácio França came free, but Benê Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
