The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in SS Renegades's zone, Dário Furtado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cássio Recife came out of the goal and Dário Furtado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the match, SS Renegades's goal looked a bit too open when Dário Furtado came free, but Cássio Recife reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st match minute, SS Renegades was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the match, Paty FC's Romeu Moura broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tadeu Quirino got free with Rogério Peres in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juninho Borges kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Vivaldo Mattos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rogério Peres. That made the score 1-0 in the 46 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Vivaldo Mattos made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, SS Renegades's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dário Furtado fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Décio Tepedino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paty FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Décio Tepedino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cássio Recife breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Régis Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dário Furtado might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cássio Recife. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dário Furtado ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dário Furtado got free with Cássio Recife in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paty FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dário Furtado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 74 played minutes, Paty FC's Dorival da Cunha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cássio Recife came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Paty FC reached it. Dário Furtado struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Cássio Recife didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paty FC. 79 minutes into the game, Dário Furtado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cássio Recife. Dário Furtado showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arthur Medeiros during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of SS Renegades:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Paty FC:s goal. In the 86th minute, Dário Furtado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dário Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Cássio Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the game, Cafu Trigo threw the ball into play from the sideline. Paty FC's Juninho Borges quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When the match was over Paty FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SS Renegades throughout the match.
